Our Mission

To restore lives by providing ex-offenders in Minnesota with safe, affordable long-term (up to 24 months) housing – partnering to bring opportunities, resources, and positive direction to them, with the objective of helping them re-enter society as productive and responsible citizens.

Our Goal

Provide housing and opportunity for 1000 ex-offenders by 2015.

Details

Shared Community Housing
Our residents live in affordable, shared housing for up to 24 months. Each resident must maintain full time employment, must be accountable to both fellow residents and CRS staff, and must contribute to the household via chores and supportive participation. They must also participate in resident group activities and attend a local church.

Uplifting Values
CRS seeks to uplift the residents by establishing the values and benefits of God-centered living in their minds, hearts and actions. We are a non-profit corporation that calls upon the power and guidance of Almighty God to lead us and keep us, as we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of ex-offenders and in local communities. We also rely on help from private supporters, churches, business partners, public agencies, and volunteers.

Jobs for Life
CRS is the Minneapolis site for the National Jobs for Life Network. Through this program we seek to prepare the ex-offender for the job market by preparing them for life. CRS Jobs for Life is an intensive development program that gets into the root causes of our self-defeating behaviors. And then we rebuild our lives on the foundation of God's Love.

Real Help for the Ex-offender

Christian ex-offenders are involved in the operation of CRS. In cooperation with private supporters, churches, business partners, public agencies, and volunteers, CRS provides many programs and services to ex-offenders and their family members, with the objective of assisting them in achieving a successful and productive foundation in the community. We provide the help needed to get re-established upon release from a correctional facility. This help includes:

· Realistic Resources
· Affordable Housing
· Mentoring
· Individual and Group Support

· Job Development Training

Eligibility
We are very interested in working with any ex-offender who demonstrates a real desire to change, an interest in God’s will for their lives, and a willingness to follow the structure and policies of the program.
